Happy Mother’s Day to our Great Mother Earth!
I recently had the great honor of visiting the Birthing Cave in Sedona, Arizona… wow, what a powerful and sacred space!
I entered into the spacious womb-like space carved into the red rock cliff, look up and see the perfectly formed yoni entrance skyward, then I notice that there is a small niche carved into the back wall- a cave within a cave! This small seed space represents the place of knowing that a birthing mama goes to during the birth journey. The ancient wise space within that holds the knowing of the power of birth. For me, in this time and space, it held a powerful initiation of another kind…. I made the sacred transition to maidenhood 33 years ago, to motherhood 17 years ago, and today the cave invited me to embrace my inner wise woman.
